  New players needed
Just barely a week until the new season starts and number of players is still exceptionally low. If you enjoy this game, please tell your friends about it, challenge them to come here and fight you, and post about the game on sports related websites you visit (while observing their rules, of course). Maverick, Chris and I are trying to get some people here via Facebook. Going there, liking "Pure Fantasy Racing League" and writing nice comments to posts on that page also helps.

Maybe it's a bad time to wish for our new Facebook ad to go viral, but statistics of first day says we reached 2309 people of which 69 took the bait and clicked, and hopefully a few of them will stay to play with us. My personal goal is at least 1000 clicks until the season is supposed to start, and of course I hope even more that it will actually start...

efforts to increase players
While I thank Mav, Gakra, Hubcap and all who have worked hard to expand the size of our league, we all need to take some responsibility here. My daughter recruited me after being invited by one of her college professors. I invited my 97 yr old father who is still going strong (stronger than me lol). I have invited others as well.

WE ALL NEED TO RECRUIT NEW PLAYERS. Family members are good targets and it will bring your family together for a fun time on half the weekends each year. WHAT COULD BE BETTER THAN THAT???

Can't wait to get rollin in my new black and yellow cars.

@Hubcap00:
Thank you very much for your feedback.

I tried to optimise PFRL.net for the search term 'Fantasy F1'. I concentrate on the Google search engine because the traffic from other providers is negligible.

I'll try a few more optimisations, but it won't be easy to establish PFRL.net on the 1st page of Google.com.

Last night I tried searching google using chrome for 'fantasy f1' and pfrl came up last on page 1. This evening I tried google again and it appears midway down on page 2 (note: purefantasyf1 appears on page three). Then tried the 'Edge' browser (bing) and pfrl came up fourth on page 2 and searching for 'fantasy formula one' came up third on page 1. So retried chrome/google for 'fantasy formula one' to see if it would appear higher, but it still comes up middle of page 2. Hope this gives you some useful info.

@Hubcap00:
I've made some adjustments to the PFRL.net homepage.

Could you please check if the ranking for the search term Fantasy F1 has improved?

Just ran a google search for Fantasy F1 and this site (pfrl) came up somewhere on page two. What can we, the players do to increase the site's ranking on google or other search engines?

I discovered this site about two or three years ago after doing a google search to see what what it would throw up under F1 Fantasy and F1 Tipping.

Reading through the comments on this thread shows that I am just a novice when it comes to knowing all the things that are available. I will obviously have to do a bit of study of the rules etc just to see what I have been missing out on through ignorance! Will probably even increase the number of Teams I have in my garage from the three that I had last season and then start working out how to use all the other tricks available to me to become a bit more competitive that I have been in the past.

Its a bit of a shame that some long time competitors have said they are considering dropping out but I will be back with my foot hard on the accelerator for 2020. Interesting to note that a lot of people here seem to be very competitive and put a lot of time and effort into their ensuring their teams are well selected and prepared. I thought I was doing reasonably well on that but whatever others are doing they are doing it way better than me! Hopefully I will start getting up toward their levels of success in the coming seasons and not floundering down amongst the Williams and Haas level that I have been operating at in the past.

Remember Pit Lane to prepare your teams for 2020 opens on February 9.

Good luck to my fellow racers come lights out time in Melbourne on March 15.

Interesting thought... I've been playing a lot of games related to real sports events, especially winter sports, and for some reason one day I ran a search for an F1-related game after the first race of the season was over already, and luckily found this one, read the rules, found it complex but very interesting, registered and have been hooked ever since. Combination with winter sports was perfect as the season of one thing is pretty much the off-season of the other. Skiing is still my favourite sport to watch even though after my favourite athlete retired it lost about 90% of its sense, yet I gave up all these games I used to play, one after the other. As for F1, all reason for me to watch it died on 1st of May 1994, but came back to life the day I registered here. If I will ever give up this game while it exists, please call the police as I will be in real danger, thank you.

Been thinking of how to promote this game and began wondering how everyone who plays now came here. For me, it was through the Speed television channel's F1 forums years ago. Those forums no longer exist. If we grasp how we came here, we have a better chance of where to find new players. I have been recruiting on a racing game forum, it's a bit hit or miss as the F1 section of the forum sees less traffic than the other sections. So I am trying a different approach this year.
