You are so right Carlisle about newer great players. Seeing Menzy on top, for instance, as a relative newcomer is awesome. He is certainly not the only one and i wont mention names for fear of forgetting someone.

I have no idea how old Mav is or what his plans are. While I am an old man and may not be around an awful lot longer I still worry about the future of our beloved game. This game has taught me the awesome beauty and complexity of formula 1. It puts the formula 1 bogus fantasy game to shame.

We should have ten thousand people here or more. I am at a loss though to figure out how to do it. i may start bragging about it on radio sports shows. Menzy is awesome and I seem to be banging into him everywhere such as Fast and Pizza, European Continent etc. Ozumo and like i say too many to mention demonstrate the viability and greatness of this complicated game.

Please everybody recruit your friends, family and strangers. In the meantime enjoy this as I do. It has somehow become one of the true joys of my fading years. So many true lovers of the sport here and we need to figure out how to make it grow under the radar so as not to rile any feathers; i understand our limitations. My 101 year old father recently retired from this game but is still kicking and enjoying formula 1. When I am gone my daughter, Lorriejen will carry on our family tradition.

My only regret is using the name Alan T Riley. He is my favorite character from my favorite novel. It certainly does not sound Danish lol. We are the Nielsens. Can you imagine if we could all meet for a race at Monaco. You are all my friends even those of you who keep beating the pants off of me.

Alan, I'm glad to hear your father is 101 and still doing well, and I sure hope you got some of these genes, too, so your daughter can gladly carry on the family tradition with you around, too.

As for people I brought here, sadly Chris is the only one who is still active, but then he got a lot of people here and many are still active. And not all hope for a comeback of at least some of "my" others is lost yet. Their decision didn't have anything to do with the game but rather changes in their lives that lead to time being more limited, like becoming a father...

It is sure difficult for newcomers to be successful, but when I started, read the rules and thought about it, I had a feeling this could be something for me. I didn't come close to any success in the first three seasons, and I couldn't really blame it on bad luck because 777 proved it is possible to be at the top consistantly, and I wondered how he could do so much better even though he started the season under the same circumstances. Also I remember I was on a good way to at least win my league but quickly realized another team will probably catch me because they had a lot more budget, and even though I bravely fought and made the right decisions, it was not possible to keep them behind. So this way I learnt to also put focus on improving my finances. Another mistake I made in first seasons was oversteering. When something didn't work, I blamed it on bad decision and changed it, and in next race it would have been good... so I learnt that sometimes we just have bad luck, but that doesn't mean our choice was poor from an objective point of view. I didn't see why it shouldn't be possible to at least fight for some trophies, and once you get there, you know you're on the right way and such experience sure helps a lot. I have to admit I then also got lucky many times. There are many here able to win the whole thing, you all just need to be perseverant until that extra bit of luck needed will fall on your side.

Thank you and great point Chris. The only true hope for a Rookie to catch on quickly is with someone looking over their shoulder a bit, with a little bit of introduction to the game. I do not call it cheating for someone to give advice and consultation to a relative or friend whom they have brought in fresh.

i recruited from time to time some players. the biggest barrier is that they will stay is that this game is so complex and difficult. my friends want to beat me, want to raise me. but mostly they would surely need some years to have a chance to beat me. we love this game because its not easy to handle, we can compete with others experts. but not easy for new players - not solvable. but anyway, its a game for F1 nerds, and this should be stay.
